Silvan de Smit is a recent classical guitar Bachelor degree graduate. Currently in the Master-program at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Maestro Gabriel Bianco. He has previously studied with the legendary Johannes Möller. Among many accomplishments both Bianco and Möller received 1st-prize in the highly prestigious GFA-competition.
The previous three years, he has studied with Lydia Kennedy who, among many of her other activities, recorded filmmusic with string players of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, studied with Alexandre Lagoya and performed many concerts with her duo.
Before attending the Conservatory of Amsterdam, he was taught by Dingeman Coumou at the Regional Music Conservatory in Alphen aan den Rijn.
Some of Silvan's accomplishments include: a concert in the famous Gitaarsalon in Enkhuizen and its guitar festival. Performing in an opening concert for virtuoso Gabriel Bianco with his guitar quartet. Playing in Het Concertgebouw on NPO Radio 4 "Spiegelzaal". Also performed on the Radio 4 program ''Opium''. He also was soloist in a performance of Harmony Orchestra Vleuten in the Beurs van Berlage.
